Mr. Chandi is having 4 decade of strong experience in mining industry and having specialisation in mine planning and designing. He worked extensively with SURPAC, AUTOCAD, MS EXCEL, MS WORD, MS POWERPOINT software etc. in last 4 decades. He worked in various capacity at Vedanta and contribution is well recognised in underground mine planning and designing.
Experience
Mr. Chandi worked for 7 years as Chief Planning Engineer at Al Amar Gold mine belonging to M/s Ma'aden Gold and Base Metals co, in Saudi Arabia.for production of 0.25 million t per annum with trackless mining system with moderate mechanisation used for top slicing retreating stoping method. He extended consultancy in soap stone mining and He also engaged in teching profession also.
Before this, he served HZL for 25 years and engaged in technical as well as operation role. His major contribution was in De-pillaring operations at Mochia Mines. One of them was the biggest underground-mine blast of 146 MT explosive in a single shot. (1994). He is expert in production planning and scheduling using software.
He also extended consultancy and designed ore body model using surpac for soapstone and Wolframite underground.
Tours and Travel
Mr. Chandi visited Australia, France, England etc. and visited about 30 mines and about 5 industries, manufacturing mining equipment.
Education and Publications
Mr. Chandi did Mining engineering in 1979 (MBM) and has first class mine manager certificate of competency. He also did CESPROMIN-1996, Ecole de mine de Paris, Fontainebleau, France and also got Three months training of French language-1995, CAVILAM, Vichy, France . He is having membership of AMIE, MEAI and ISTD.
